1. What is a Rotaract Club?
Rotaract stands for “Rotary in Action”
Rotaract is an official program of The Rotary Club of Sammamish
Today there are over 8,400 Rotaract Clubs in over 170 countries
2. Who is Rotaract?
Rotaract is for men and women ages 18-30
There are over 170,000 Rotaractors in the world
Membership is open to those who share the values of Rotary
(honesty; ethical business practices; compassion; serving others above self)
3. How Does a Rotaract Club Function?
Rotaract meets twice a month; members commit to attend at least 60% of the time
Each club elects its own officers
Rotaract provides opportunities for—
Leadership development and Professional growth
Community service
Participating in global projects to work for peace and meeting of human needs
Building meaningful friendships and fellowship
The Club is part of a world-wide directory
A minimum of 15 charter members are necessary for certification
In short, “a Rotaract Club begins at the grassroots level, with members addressing their communities’ physical and social needs while promoting international understanding and peace through a framework of friendship and service.”
