Become a Volunteer

We're looking for industrious, committed, caring people who want to make a difference in the community.

Have you ever wondered how one person, acting alone or within a group, can actually make a difference? The Sammamish Rotary Club would like to show you how. Simply become a volunteer for the Sammamish Rotary Club to see how this group of individuals are making a real and large scale difference in our local community as well as worldwide. Volunteering is fun, it’s about giving back, doing something in your community that really matters.  There is no financial obligation, just your smile and helping hands. We promise to turn your time and talent into your most rewarding volunteer experience this year!

What is Rotary and Who Volunteers for Rotary? Rotary is made up of responsible, caring, ethical women and men of all ages, politics, religions persuasions and interests.  Anyone 14 years and older that wants to volunteer can be a Friend of Sammamish Rotary! Let the Sammamish Rotary Club create the “WOW” in your life today! Sammamish Rotary Club members are your neighbors, people just like you who want to make a difference in the community by pitching in.  By working together, we are able to help others here in Sammamish and around the world.

Learn more and find out how you can fit into this picture, please fill out our Volunteer Form. Our friendly Volunteer Coordinator will contact you and tell you about our new volunteer workshops and how to get started.

Current Volunteer Opportunities:

 ico_nabl2_256 Nightmare at Beaver Lake
Volunteers work as actors, set constructors, security and crowd control personnel, theatrical make-up artists, van drivers and costumers. This fun and safe event for families and young people takes place in Sammamish during extended weekends in October. It's a ton of fun and raises scholarship funds for Plateau high school seniors.  For more information, please click here.
Habitat for Humanity
Volunteers help low income families build their own homes.
Rotary First Harvest
Volunteers help sort and package surplus produce for distribution to local food banks. Low income people get to eat healthy! No experience necessary!
Vocational Service
Volunteers help middle and high school students prepare for adult responsibilities by delivering community-supported training programs, conducting mock interviews and help facilitate the college scholarship program for local high school seniors.
Community Service - SERVICE ABOVE SELF
Volunteers help brighten the lives of families in need by collecting food donations, creating holiday food baskets, organizing and operating the Challenge Day Race soap box derby, flipping hamburgers and hot dogs at Summer Concerts in the Park and other community events to help raise funds for local humanitarian projects.
Community Outreach
Volunteers provide community event participants with information on Rotary and other programs, write articles, participate in the social media experience, take photos and help shoot videos to promote our community-building work.
Mentoring Programs
Sammamish Rotary is launching a peer mentoring pilot program. Help support others' aspirations via life experiences, resources and knowledge. Volunteers will shadow a Rotarian and leverage their experience in this exciting new endeavor.
International Humanitarian Work
For those that are interested in international outreach, volunteers will have the opportunity to assist with water, polio inoculation and education projects in sometimes remote corners of the world.
Volunteer Program
HR chair who coordinates volunteers, training workshops and volunteer assignments.
